This is a common affliction that is spreading the country. It is spread by casual contact and it induces a general feeling of wellness when treated. This is a real condition. There is no middle ground here. You either are, or you aren't.There are many addictions. We have all heard of them. And there are just as many treatment programs to help free one's self from the grips of these addictions. However, to our knowledge, there are no 12 step programs to help you with this affliction. But don't despair. There many other things that it would be worse to have an addiction to. If you find yourself suffering from withdrawals, the only thing we can do, is encourage you to seek out a karaoke song and sing it.
We have put together a checklist of ways to check if you are one. If you can answer a yes to any one of them, then you are a karaokeholic. Remember there is no maybes or sort of. You either are or you aren't.
2. You keep your own Karaoke CDs with you at all times, just in case you find loose microphone laying around somewhere.
3. You have a list of your Karaoke CDs so you can find a song quickly.
4. You know all of your friends by their first name only (or their stage name).
5. You are on first name basis with your bartender, server and KJ at your karaoke show spots.
6. The KJ waves to you as you walk in.
7. You take a list of venues with you when you travel so as not to miss a single night in a new town.
8. If your friends don't find you at home, they know they will find at your favorite karaoke bar.
9. If your friends call you on your cell phone and you don't answer, they know you are probably singing and will call them later.
10. You have your own karaoke system at home.
11. For your birthday, you have a karaoke party.
12. When faced with the decision; groceries or karaoke, it's a no brainer - Karaoke.
